Study: Car Seats are Often Unsafe

According to a survey conducted by Wayne State's Transportation Research Group, although 80 percent of Michigan children are buckled in car seats, 71.4 percent of the devices are installed incorrectly. "Child restraint devices - and their proper use - are the best way to prevent one of the leading causes of children's death," according to Michael Prince of the Michigan office of Highway and Safety Planning.
